SA193 is a specification growing in popularity. Technical Threads stocks and supplies a variety of SA193 materials. SA193 is an ASME spec, often considered to be a sister spec to A193. Similar to A193, SA193 bolting is often found in heavy process industries. It is commonly found on the pressure equipment the plants rely on, such as boilers, heat exchangers, tanks and other pressure vessels. SA193 B7 Heavy Hex bolts and SA193 B7 Studs are the most common SA fasteners.

UN8 is the standard spec above 1″, but UNC SA193 is also supplied.

ASME SA193 B7M is a modified version of B7 that is used for “sour service” (NACE MR0175) applications for environments exposed to the H2S (hydrogen sulfide). It’s common on flanges, vessels, valves, pumps, etc. etc. B7M is often found on pots, tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels, especially in the oil/gas industry.
