We supply B16′s in a variety of lengths, and can supply cut-to-order studs immediately in special sizes. The size range in ASTM goes through 8″ diameter, making B16 one of the common choices for large diameter high temperature studs.
B16′s fall under the ASTM A193 and ASME SA193 specs. It is one of the most common fasteners specs for heavy industry, especially in the the petroleum and chemical industries. High temperature pressure flange joints are one of the main applications for B16 fasteners.
The “big brother” of B7 studs, B16 studs are found in similar situations, but are specified when a higher temperature is required. Vanadium is the main composition difference that separates B16 from B7, allowing the higher temperature limits.
Typically ASTM A194 Grade 4 Heavy Hex Nuts are specified with B16 studs & bolts, although Grade 7 is also fairly common. We supply B16 studs and bolts with nuts, or separately.
